What Is Dahua DMSS?

DMSS (Device Mobile Surveillance System) is Dahua's dedicated mobile application for managing security systems. It's available for iOS and Android and connects to Dahua CCTV cameras, NVRs (network video recorders) and alarm systems.

For customers with Dahua equipment installed by Midland Security Services, DMSS provides a straightforward way to stay connected to your security system from anywhere in the world.

Key Features

Live view — Watch live footage from any of your cameras directly on your smartphone. Switch between cameras, zoom in on specific areas, and check your property in real time.

Playback — Review recorded footage quickly and easily. Search by time, date or motion event to find the footage you need.

Motion alerts — Receive instant push notifications when motion is detected. Configure alert zones to focus on the areas that matter most and reduce unnecessary notifications.

Alarm integration — If your alarm system is connected, receive alerts when the alarm is triggered, view the activation zone, and manage your response.

Two-way audio — Some Dahua cameras support two-way audio, allowing you to speak to visitors or deter intruders remotely.

Multi-site management — If you have cameras at multiple locations — a home and a business, for example — manage them all from the same app.

Setting Up DMSS

DMSS is configured during the installation process by our engineers. We set up your account, add your devices, configure alert zones and ensure remote access is working correctly before we leave.

We also provide a brief walkthrough of the app so you're confident using it from day one.

Privacy and Security

Remote access to your CCTV system should always be configured securely. We set up DMSS with:

• Two-factor authentication where available
• Controlled user access — only authorised users can view footage

We advise against sharing login details and recommend reviewing user access periodically, particularly if staff change.
